Google became the highest-ranking publisher worldwide in the first month of 2021 generating approximately 250 million global downloads across both Google Play Store and Apple App Store, according to the latest data from Sensor Tower.
Social media giant Facebook stood at No.2 generating over 191 million global app downloads across both Android and iOS platforms.

Facebook was followed by France-based video game developer and publisher Voodoo at No.3 which saw over 4.4 billion app downloads so far, of which 2 billion was generated in 2020.
Crazy Labs, Azur Interactive and Say Games which recently surpassed 2 billion lifetime downloads rounded up the top seven top publishers worldwide in January 2021 by downloads.
Meanwhile, Tiktok maker Bytedance was the 8th top publisher last month. Popular short-video platform yesterday announced that it’s getting ready to launch its own e-commerce service, challenging its biggest rival Facebook in the United States.

Lastly, Bytedance was followed by Microsoft and Outfit7 at No.9 and No.20 respectively.
