Facebook Introduces App Lock and New Privacy Features For Messenger

World-famous social media company Facebook introduced ”App Lock ” and some new privacy features for the Messenger app.

The world’s largest social media company Facebook has been receiving quite negative reviews regarding user security, especially after the Cambridge Analytica data scandal occurred in the beginning of 2018. Now, it is working hard to get rid of this bad brand image and offer its users more secure platforms.

The company just shared an article on its blog and introduced some new privacy features including App Lock, to enable Facebook Messenger users to have a more secure online messaging experience.

App Lock lets you add another layer of security to your private messages and helps prevent other people from accessing them. This optional feature gives you the confidence to know that if a friend or family member needs to borrow your phone, they won’t be able to access your chats.

App Lock is currently available for only iPhone and iPad users. To use it, all you need to do is to visit the Privacy Settings page. (Make sure you’re using the latest version of the app.)

In addition to App Lock, Facebook also announced that it is working on some other privacy features that will allow Messenger users to have more control over their calls and inbox.

Facebook says these features will be ‘’similar to the message controles on Instagram’’ and it will share further information soon.
