Anthropic has introduced live iOS Simulator integration for Claude Code on macOS, allowing developers to build, launch, and test iPhone apps without leaving the Claude Code desktop app. The new capability is designed to streamline the development workflow by bringing coding, debugging, and testing into a single environment.
With the update, Claude Code can connect directly to Apple’s iOS Simulator running on a Mac. Developers can ask Claude to create or modify code, launch the app in the simulator, inspect the interface, identify issues, and iterate on changes in real time without manually switching between multiple tools.
According to Anthropic, the integration enables Claude Code to view screenshots from the iOS Simulator and interact with the app as it runs. Developers can also provide natural language instructions—such as requesting a UI adjustment or asking Claude to investigate a bug—and the assistant can make code changes before testing the updated version in the simulator.

The feature supports a range of common development tasks, including building new iOS applications, debugging crashes, refining user interfaces, testing application flows, and verifying that code changes behave as expected. Anthropic says the workflow is intended to reduce the amount of manual context switching typically involved in iOS development.
To use the feature, developers need the Claude Code desktop app for macOS, Xcode, and Apple’s iOS Simulator installed on their machine. Once configured, Claude Code can communicate with the simulator locally, allowing developers to iterate on their apps without leaving the desktop application.
Anthropic demonstrated the capability by showing Claude Code generating an iOS application, launching it in the simulator, reviewing the interface, making requested design changes, and retesting the app in successive iterations. The company says the integration is available now as part of the Claude Code desktop experience for macOS.
The release expands Claude Code’s development capabilities beyond code generation, giving developers a way to test and refine iOS applications within the same AI-assisted workflow as they write code. As AI-powered coding tools continue to evolve, integrations that combine development and live testing are becoming an increasingly important part of the software development process.
