For its new audio-based chat room feature Spaces, Twitter is reportedly working on a ‘’Tip Jar’’ feature to allow users to support the people they follow with donations.

According to 9to5Mac, the Tip Jar will support major payment services including Cash App, Bandcamp, Venmo, and Patreon. When the social media giant rolls out the feature, content creators will be able to receive donations from the people listening to their live Spaces on Twitter.

The company first announced Spaces back in December 2020 and started testing it with a bigger audience in the beginning of this month. Last week, the company said that it’s planning to make the Clubhouse-like feature available for everyone in April 2021

Meanwhile, other tech giants are also reportedly working on Clubhouse-like voice chat products including ByteDance and Facebook

The news of the Tip Jar comes two weeks after Twitter announced that it’s planning to launch a paid subscription service named Super Follow that will charge users for exclusive content.

Meanwhile, the company recently started testing new shopping features to enable sales on its platform.
