Pinterest launches Pinterest TV for live shopping

Pinterest announced Pinterest TV, a series of live, original and shoppable episodes featuring creators, in categories like food, beauty, home, and DIY.

The episodes will be refreshed each weekday and will be recorded and available for Pinners to view on-demand, and save and rewatch later.

Pinterest says, beginning November 8, episodes will air Monday-Friday at 3PM PDT / 6PM EDT in the U.S. on iOS and Android. Each Friday, products will drop in a live shopping setting where Pinners can take advantage of discounts from brands including All Birds, Crown Affair, Melody Ehsani, Outdoor Voices, Mented and more.

Pinterest TV, which will be available via the TV icon in the upper left corner of the Pinterest app, will launch with top creators and brands including Cristian On from American Fashion Designer and Project Runway alum Christian Siriano, Unfail My from director and screenwriter Monica Suriyage, Tom Tries from olympic gold medalist Tom Daley, Manny Does from beauty entrepreneur Manny MUA, and Buy This from host and comedian Robyn Schall.

On Pinterest TV, creators will be able to showcase and tag products so Pinners can shop on the retailer’s site. Hosts will have a shopping toolbox to enable live shopping experiences, including a product drawer with prices and product details, product discounts and brand collaborations, a screen showing how much is left, and a limited-time offer module to offer discounts.

Also every Friday, a new brand will host a special product drop to let Pinners join the live stream to see the big show and catch special discounts.

As part of its e-commerce push, Pinterest announced during its second annual Pinterest Creators Festival that creators now have the option to make their Idea Pins automatically shoppable by enabling shopping recommendations on their Idea Pins.
