Developers can now enroll for reduced App Store fees

Apple announced back in November that it will launch a Small Business Program that will reduce the commission rate from 30% to 15%. Apple announced that the enrollment for the “App Store Small Business Program” has now started.

“Featuring a reduced commission rate of 15% on paid apps and in-app purchases, this program helps you invest more resources into your business so you can continue building great apps. The vast majority of developers on the App Store who sell digital goods and services are eligible,” Apple said in a statement.

Developers participating in the program must have earned less than $ 1 million in total from all applications in 2020. Developers with more than $ 1 million in revenue are not allowed to participate in the App Store Small Business Program.

According to the information shared by Apple, the App Store Small Business Program will be activated on December 31, 2020. It is forbidden for developers to transfer their applications to another account after the program is activated. Let’s add that the registration process for the App Store Small Business Program will take until December 18.

If you sign up for the App Store Small Business Program, the commission rate will be reduced to 15 percent by January 1, 2021.
