iOS 14.5 update adds official support for PlayStation 5 and Xbox controllers

Apple’s newly released iOS 14.5 update has brought official support for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S controllers.

The iPhone-maker already provides official support for PlayStation DualShock 4 controllers, Xbox One wireless controllers, Xbox Elite Series 2 controllers and also Xbox Adaptive Controller. 

The new iOS 14.5 update which is now widely available has added support for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S controllers. 

The news comes a week after Microsoft announced that it would send invitations to select Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members to test its Xbox Cloud Gaming beta service for iOS devices and Windows 10 PCs via web browsers. 

Apple has released its iOS 14.5 update at its special event that took place last year where the tech giant also introduced many new features and updates including new voice options for Siri, emojis, Apple Podcasts, Air Tags and more. 

The company also announced that its controversial App Tracking Transparency framework which will require devs to get user consent in order to track their data would come into effect this week
