Sensor Tower has acquired mobile app market intelligence platform AppMagic, continuing consolidation in the app analytics and market intelligence sector as demand for mobile performance data expands across gaming and digital advertising.
Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
The acquisition positions AppMagic as Sensor Tower’s new offering focused on small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs), particularly indie developers and smaller mobile gaming studios seeking app market intelligence tools and competitive benchmarking capabilities.
Founded in 2016, AppMagic built its presence around mobile game and app analytics, offering estimated download and revenue tracking, market research, regional performance insights, and competitive intelligence tools. The platform has been widely used by mobile gaming companies to monitor category trends, publisher performance, and monetization benchmarks.
The move further strengthens Sensor Tower’s position in the mobile intelligence market following its acquisition of data.ai in 2024. With AppMagic now joining its portfolio, Sensor Tower continues expanding its coverage across app analytics, advertising intelligence, audience insights, and gaming market data.
Sensor Tower said the acquisition is intended to broaden access to its intelligence products across different segments of the app ecosystem, including smaller developers and emerging studios that may not require enterprise-level analytics platforms.
According to Sensor Tower’s latest State of Mobile findings referenced in the announcement, global app downloads reached 149 billion in 2025, reflecting continued growth in the mobile ecosystem despite increasing competition and market maturity.
The company’s intelligence products are currently used by more than 2,500 enterprise customers worldwide across sectors including gaming, advertising, e-commerce, and consumer apps.
AppMagic founder and CEO Max Samorukov said the integration would provide AppMagic users with broader datasets and additional market visibility, while Sensor Tower co-founder and CEO Oliver Yeh said the combined companies would work on expanding tools designed for all stages of the mobile app and gaming ecosystem.
The acquisition also reinforces Sensor Tower’s broader expansion strategy beyond mobile app analytics. In recent years, the company has added advertising intelligence, web insights, audience analytics, and live operations intelligence as competition intensifies among analytics providers serving publishers, advertisers, and app developers.
